The epic shady tale began in 1965 when Dr. Bob Smith began selling the first thermal-sealed snow goggle out of his truck in parking lots of local ski areas. The legendary powder junkie had a vision to develop eyewear that could extend the thrill of the human experience—and he accomplished just that! Fast forward a whopping five decades and the Smith brand is stronger than ever. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Smith has crafted three new sunwear styles to add to its archive collection: the Rebel, Tioga and Questa.
Circa 1988, the Rebel flaunts a subtle cat-eye silhouette in bold red with vibrant purple lenses for stand-out appeal. Originally released in 1993, the Tioga offers up a time-honored aesthetic for outdoor lovers. Boasting a wearable sports-inspired profile, these jet black sunnies continue to evolve with the modern explorer. Lastly, the Questa was introduced in 1990 as part of Smith’s moto series, and features a retro round shape adorned with classic tortoise and crystal clear color blocking, as well as vintage etching. Check out the sunnies below.
