From the amazing fashions seen on the red carpet, to the energizing performances by the music industry’s hottest stars like Usher, Ke$ha, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, just to name a few, the 40th Annual American Music Awards was a fabulous event to remember.
It was hard to keep our eyes off of the glitzy gowns and sleek suits—not to mention the crazy cool costumes—but we, of course, were on the lookout for one key element of the evening: eyewear.
We wish we would’ve seen the ladies decorate their stunning faces with eyewear more, but the dudes seriously knew how to make statements with their sexy specs and sunnies.
We’re in love with the Biebs—who took home three awards, including the show’s biggest honor Artist of the Year—in these semi-rounded, cat-eye-inspired sunnies with brow bar and temple detailing. And mad props go to will.i.am for being bold and rocking his structured gold-hued, translucent frames.
Aviators and wayfarer shades—with the occasional twist—were trending, as well as geek chic frames, and glasses with unexpected textures and brow bar additions. Gradient lenses in more muted tones were also a hit among these guys.
